Ghanaian-British designer with over a decade of experience, Wadie has worked in cities such as London, Manchester, Accra, Amsterdam, New York, and Los Angeles. With a passion for design, art, and production, this multidisciplinary creative has made it his mission to change how others think about and interact with design—operating under the belief that everything can be improved upon.
Leroy's creative journey began when he graduated from Shillington's Graphic Design course and landed a role as a Graphic Designer at Dreamr, a design studio based in Manchester. While working there, he recognized an opportunity to elevate Ghana's creative scene, particularly in design. In 2015, he made the bold move from London to Accra with one goal in mind: to improve the creative landscape within the city and ultimately the continent.
2020 marked a milestone year with the launch of his creative design studio, Studio 873. Through design, creative direction, and production, the studio specializes in bringing spaces to life by envisioning the experiences people will have, resulting in transformative and emotional encounters. His affinity for spaces led to a collaboration with one of Africa's leading galleries—ADA contemporary art gallery. In his ongoing role as Creative Director, Leroy's ability to continually transform spaces and produce creative shows has helped elevate Ghana's art landscape.
In 2024, Leroy embarked on a new journey as a design educator, launching the Wadie Design Academy in Accra. WDA is a creative institution offering comprehensive design instruction. Founded on the belief that great design can inspire, innovate, and influence positive change, the academy encourages students to break boundaries through self-discovery and creative thinking.
